Applications range from wardrobe doors and decorative feature walls to mirrored splashbacks behind kitchen counters and backlit LED vanity mirrors for bathrooms. Each is measured and templated on site, so the finished mirror matches the exact opening rather than a standard size that needs trimming or gap-filling on installation day.
Backlit LED vanity mirrors add integrated lighting behind or around the glass, which is a common upgrade for bathroom renovations. Splashbacks and feature walls, by contrast, are chosen more for how they open up a room visually — a mirrored surface behind a kitchen counter or along a hallway reflects light and makes a compact space read larger.
Why Backing and Edge Finishing Matter in UAE Humidity
Bathroom and other high-humidity installations use moisture-resistant backing, which stops the silvering from oxidising at the edges over time — the most common way an older mirror starts to look patchy. Without that protection, moisture works its way in from the perimeter of the glass and the reflective layer degrades from the edge inward, long before the glass itself shows any damage.
Mirrors are installed with backing, adhesive, and safety fixings suited to their specific location — a wardrobe door mirror is fixed differently to a wall-mounted feature mirror or a ceiling-height gym panel. Edge finishing is polished as standard, with bevelled edges available for a more decorative look on feature mirrors.
Gym and Feature Wall Mirrors
A home or commercial gym typically needs a full wall of mirror rather than a single panel, which means joining multiple pieces of glass so the seams sit flush and the reflection reads as one continuous surface. This is templated and cut in Diamond Step's own workshop, then installed with fixings rated for the panel size and wall type.
Feature walls follow the same principle at a smaller scale — a single large mirror or a patterned arrangement of panels, framed by their polished or bevelled edge rather than a surrounding frame. Both applications are measured on site first, since even a small gap between panels is far more visible on a mirror than on most other wall finishes.
