Types of Glass Doors
Diamond Step fabricates glass doors as frameless, semi-frameless, or fully framed systems, in three opening styles: hinged, pivot, or sliding. Each door is cut and finished to the exact dimensions of the opening it's built for, rather than adapted from a stock size.
Every door uses 10mm or 12mm toughened safety glass as standard. Toughened glass is engineered to break into small, blunt fragments rather than sharp shards if it's ever broken, meeting UAE safety requirements for both residential and commercial installations.
Frameless vs Semi-Frameless vs Framed
A frameless glass door has no visible frame around the glass panel — hardware is fitted directly to the glass edge, so the opening the door sits inside needs to be perfectly square and the hardware correctly aligned. Get either wrong and the door can bind, drag on the floor, or fail to close flush.
Semi-frameless and fully framed doors carry more of that structural tolerance in the frame itself, which is one reason frameless systems demand tighter measurement and installation precision. Diamond Step measures every opening on site before cutting glass, rather than working from assumed dimensions off a floor plan.

Hardware and Finishes
Hardware — patch fittings, floor springs, and pivot hinges — is specified to the weight of the glass panel it's supporting, rather than fitted generically off a shelf. A heavier 12mm panel needs a different hardware specification to a lighter 10mm panel of the same size.
Finishes are available in matte black, brushed gold, or polished stainless steel, so hardware can be matched to existing fittings in the property. Doors are fitted for both internal partitions — office doors, frosted privacy glass — and full external entrance systems, from a single panel to multi-door office fit-outs.
