ACP Cladding in Dubai: Fire-Rated Aluminium Composite Panel Facades

Diamond Step® supplies and installs aluminium composite panel cladding across Dubai, from tower recladding and retail fascia work to canopies, soffits, column casings and plant-room screening. An ACP panel is two thin aluminium skins bonded either side of a core, and almost everything that matters about the finished facade comes down to which core and which coating you specify. We quote FR mineral-filled core as standard on every external facade, and we do not supply polyethylene core for external work in Dubai at any height. That is not a house preference, it is what the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code requires and what Dubai Civil Defence will approve.

The second specification that decides how a Dubai facade looks in ten years is the coating. We use PVDF-coated panels rather than polyester, because polyester chalks and shifts colour under Gulf UV within a few summers, and on a south or west elevation the difference is visible from street level long before the panel itself fails. Panels are cut, routed and folded in our own workshop, then fixed to an aluminium sub-frame as a cassette tray system so individual panels can be removed later without dismantling a whole bay. We handle Dubai Municipality and Civil Defence submissions, provide panel layout and setting-out drawings for consultant approval, and coordinate access with building management on occupied towers so tenants are not disrupted.

ACP Cladding Projects in Dubai: From Panel Schedule to Handover

Most Dubai ACP work reaches us in one of two forms. Either a main contractor needs a facade package priced against a consultant's panel schedule on a new commercial build, or a building owner around Al Quoz, Deira or Business Bay has ageing cladding that has faded, dented or, in older stock, was installed with a core that no longer satisfies current code. Recladding is the more involved job: existing panels and sub-frame come off, the substrate is inspected for water damage and corrosion behind the old system, and the new aluminium framing is set out to correct whatever the original installation got wrong. We survey the elevation and work to as-built dimensions rather than the original drawings, because a facade that has been through one previous cladding cycle rarely matches the paperwork.
