When an older frame is the problem — heat coming through, gaskets no longer sealing against dust and noise — swapping the glass and frame together usually costs less over time than patching around the edges. Diamond Step® has been renovating aluminium and glass installations across Dubai since 2006. Every job goes through the same process — on-site measurement, in-house fabrication, and installation by our own certified crew, not a subcontractor. The old frame comes out and gets cleared away in the same visit, and what goes back in is usually double-glazed or Low-E coated to help with cooling costs and glare. Jobs range from a single cracked shower screen through to re-glazing an entire villa, window by window.
Many of the villas in The Springs, Arabian Ranches, and Mirdif were built in the late 1990s and 2000s with single-glazed aluminium frames that were standard for the time but are now well past their working life — seals perish, sliding tracks wear, and the glass itself no longer meets the thermal performance expected in a modern home. A typical renovation here starts with a site visit where we check every frame for corrosion at the corners, test how well the existing seals are holding, and note whether the glass is single-pane, tinted, or already showing signs of delamination. From there we put together a quotation broken down by opening, so a homeowner can renovate the whole property at once or start with the rooms that need it most, typically anywhere facing west or south that gets the harshest afternoon sun. Replacement frames and glass are fabricated in our workshop while the old units stay in place, so the property remains liveable until installation day. On installation day, each opening is handled individually — the old sash or fixed pane is removed, the frame is checked and cleaned or replaced if it's corroded beyond saving, and the new double-glazed or Low-E unit is fitted and sealed before we move on. Most single rooms are completed in one visit, and larger villas are usually phased room by room to keep the household running normally throughout the project, with hardware such as handles, hinges, and locking mechanisms replaced alongside the glass wherever the old fittings are worn or no longer available.
