Frameless Spigot-Fixed Glass Fence
Stainless steel spigot clamps fixed to the pool deck or wall hold individual glass panels with no frame and no bottom rail — from a distance the barrier all but disappears. It's the fence system we install most often in UAE luxury villas. Panels are 12mm toughened safety glass or 2 x 6mm laminated, held 100–150mm off the ground by the spigots.
Semi-Frameless Post and Panel
Slimline stainless or powder-coated aluminium posts at regular intervals carry glass panels between them, in round or square profile and any finish. It costs less than a fully frameless system while keeping a clean, modern line — the reason it's common across UAE residential compounds and mid-range villas.
Channel-Fixed Frameless
Glass panels slot into a continuous stainless or aluminium channel recessed into the deck, leaving no visible posts at all. Because the channel has to be cast into the pool deck during construction, this system needs to be planned at build stage rather than added afterwards.
Safety Requirements for UAE Pool Fences
Dubai Municipality and UAE building regulations require every private swimming pool to be enclosed by a safety fence that meets these minimum standards:
- Minimum height: 1.2 metres
- No climbable footholds below 900mm (glass satisfies this naturally)
- Self-closing, self-latching gate — the latch must be child-resistant and positioned to prevent access by a child under 1.2m tall
- Complete enclosure of the pool area — no gaps wider than 100mm
- Toughened or laminated safety glass — minimum 12mm toughened or 2 x 6mm laminated
Glass Specification for UAE Pool Fences
- 12mm toughened (tempered) glass — standard for semi-frameless and low-level applications
- 2 x 6mm laminated toughened glass — safer: holds together if broken. Recommended for all frameless spigot systems
- 2 x 8mm laminated toughened — for taller fence heights (1.5m+) or where panels are exposed to wind loads
