Choosing the right aluminium windows for your UAE home is one of the most important decisions in any construction or renovation project. Windows directly affect your energy bills, indoor comfort, noise levels, and the security of your property. In the UAE's extreme climate — with summer temperatures above 45°C and intense solar radiation — the specification of your windows matters more than almost anywhere else in the world.

Types of Aluminium Windows Available in UAE
Casement Windows
Hinged on one side and opening outward (or inward), casement windows provide excellent ventilation and a tight seal when closed. Popular in villas across Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi where controlled airflow is needed. Available in single, double, and triple sash configurations.
Sliding Windows
Panels slide horizontally on tracks. Low-profile, space-efficient, and very popular in UAE apartments and compact rooms. Easy to operate and maintain. For large openings, a multi-track sliding system accommodates three or four panels.
Fixed / Picture Windows
Non-opening windows that maximise glass area and views. Commonly used in living rooms and stairwells in modern UAE villas. Often combined with operable casement or awning windows for ventilation.
Awning Windows
Hinged at the top and opening outward from the bottom. Allow ventilation even during light rain — useful in UAE coastal areas. Popular in bathrooms, utility rooms, and high-level openings.
Single, Double & Triple Glazing in the UAE
Double glazed windows are the minimum recommended standard for the UAE. Two panes of glass with an air or argon gas gap of 12–16mm between them. This dramatically reduces heat transfer compared to single glazing.
Low-E (low emissivity) glass with a microscopically thin metallic coating reflects heat radiation while allowing visible light through. A significant upgrade for UAE conditions — reduces solar heat gain by 40–70%.
Triple glazing is rarely necessary in the UAE climate but is specified in highly energy-efficient or passive house projects.
What is a Thermal Break Window?
A thermal break aluminium window has a polyamide insulating barrier inserted inside the aluminium profile, separating the interior and exterior aluminium faces. Without a thermal break, aluminium conducts heat directly from outside to inside — turning your window frame into a heat radiator in summer.
Thermal break windows are strongly recommended for all air-conditioned spaces in the UAE. They reduce condensation on interior frames, lower AC load, and significantly improve the comfort of rooms with large window openings.
Aluminium Window Finishes
- Powder coating — the most common finish. Baked-on colour coating available in RAL, NCS, or custom colours. Durable, UV-resistant, scratch-resistant.
- Anodised aluminium — electrochemical process that hardens the surface. Silver, champagne, bronze, and black anodised finishes. Excellent for coastal UAE locations as it is more corrosion-resistant than powder coat.
- Woodgrain foil — timber-effect laminated foil applied over aluminium profiles. Gives the warmth of wood with the performance of aluminium.
